Aging In Place

According to a study by the AARP, 90% of older adults desire to stay in their own home as they age, or in other words "age in place." Even as they begin needing assistance, 82% would prefer to stay in their home. Only 9% would prefer to move to a facility to be cared for while only 4% would prefer to move in with a relative.  Living under one's own rules is listed as a main motivation to stay in one's own home.
